I went to the doctor yesterday and she recommends I have 80-100 grams of Protein. I'm on soft foods now but it will still be a challenge.

It's still a challenge for me and I'm on solids. As time goes on, I'm able to get in more Proteins and I'm thankful for that.

I'm 8 months and struggle to break 70g a day. My go to is usually cheese sticks if I need a boost.

I have an Unjury shake in the morning made w milk, 2 oz of any kind of meat for lunch and same for dinner. No problems breaking 70 + grams of Protein a day. And I definitely stay full. Hope that helps some. I also have a protein Water mix, not sure the name but it only has 23 calories and like 18 grams of protein. If u want the name let me know.

Hope this helps.

I use Syntrax Nectac strawberry kiwi- I use a 1 1/2 scoops with 12 oz of Water every morning for 35 grams of Protein. This helps so much in getting protein amounts in or close to in. If I have a bad eating day I also use the Unjury chicken Soup protein broth. It has 100 calories and over 20 grams of protein. I tend to eat mostly protein and a few veggies and salads. You will get this down it just takes a bit and helps once your are a couple months out.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
