Cravings

How far past surgery are you? Is it really worth it if you don't dump? Then you will keep eating all the foods that got you here in the first place. I personally would rather avoid the poison and find something you can enjoy. I will be praying for you.

Dumping is horrible!!! I've had it happen daily because I have yet to learn how to slow down to eat. But I had a horrible dumping episode tonight and I thought I was going to pass out! Stay away from dumping!!! It's horrible!

@ sappewife26.....you really just have to learn to pace yourself eapecially in your early stage. I know it can be frustrating at time but maybe while you are eating read or so something that occupies your time. I have learned one as I am eating I might need to take a deep breath just to allow myself to slow down and two eat in stages especially at work break my hour lunch into 30 minutes then and hr later finish my next 30. To just have to figure out what works for you because everyone is different!!! Just slow down and breath!!!! Lol...hopefully it will gt better because dumping is a horrible feeling

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
