I cant bring myself to eat pizza! I guess because I consider that a "trigger" food.... i dont want to get back in to my old habits. But it seems the dough wouldnt sit well with the pouch, not sure. Anxious to see responses here.

I have tried the Medit. Chix. Delite from Papa Murphy's. I tried to eat a slice (1/10 of it) and could barely get it all down. The crust really filled me up.

Otherwise, I have not ventured to try any other kind. I am 5 months out. Sorry...

So far I have only ate the toppings no crust but not sure if that's on a lists of approved foods ... It doesn't settle to well either. So I know probably should not eat it ( even just the toppings) that's why I was wondering if anyone could tolerate it and the opinions if we should eat it or not. I don't want this surgery not to successful

To fix my cravings, I do what Don does. I bake a pita until crispy and add some sauce with cheese and turkey pepporoni that I crisp in the microwave. I love it.

I don't think a small slice later on would hurt but I would only do something with a thin and crispy crust. Also, personally I would not do pepporoni out. I can eat sugar (Boooo!!!) but grease KILLS ME.

Have you tried the cauliflower crust pizza? It's surprisingly good.

How do you make this or where can you buy this ?

Kashi makes a really good pizza. 15 grams of Protein per slice. I can only have 1 small slice but it hit the spot.

I wish I could find this!

I make mine with 2 cups of cooked shredded cauliflower that has all the Water squeezed out of it. Mix with 2 cups of low fat cheddar cheese, 2 eggs, salt, pepper and oregano. Pat out into a very thin layer on a sprayed baking sheet. Bake at 425 for 20-25 minutes until set. Let sit for another 10 before topping the pizza and sticking it under the broiler to melt the cheese. Just make sure your toppings are precooked.

You shred it first then cook it? How? Boil it?

I but it frozen then boil it. Then I pulse it in my food processor and squeeze the Water out in a clean kitchen towel. It turns a little pulpy.

Thanks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
