pookybear 284 Posted March 13, 2013 How do eggs affect you post-op? Tried them for the first time this morning and I am burping like crazy! (Tmi, I know) Is this normal, or are eggs just a food I may have to avoid? Re-Birthday: 2/27/
Jessica9190 127 Posted March 13, 2013 It's weird I can eat an egg fried but if it's scrambled or like an omelette it gets stuck.
BBdoodle 483 Posted March 13, 2013 eggs have lots of Protein so they are good for you. Different people expierece different things... I would give the eggs a break and then revisit it a few weeks. You body goes thru sooooo many changes after surgery. 1 nienie reacted to this
JustJenn 542 Posted March 13, 2013 I have such a hard time with eggs. I can eat all my foods in their portions as I'm supposed to but I can't eat a whole soft or hard boiled egg. I get beyond full. I have to eat super slow and pay attention to my fullness if I don't lord knows I'm in such pains discomfort. It's almost down to a science of one spoon full left. But again I can eat my chicken shrimp fish like no problem. I do experience the burping too with eggs. I don't get how an egg fills me up like that. .::SurgeryDate 7/25/12::. nienie 113 Posted March 13, 2013 I eat lots of eggs daily. Have had no issues. Everyone is different. I know that if you are not feeling well, get nauseated after eating a certain food that you should stop eating but try again a few weeks later. Eggs are a great Protein source
pookybear 284 Posted March 13, 2013 Thanks, glad I'm not alone. I think it's just me having to get used to bite size and quantity since this is just my first full day on soft foods. Never got nauseous, just overfull I think. Re-Birthday: 2/27/

Lebim 381 Posted March 15, 2013 I eat them all the time with no issue. They're sort of a heavy food for me though. I've heard people are one way or the other with eggs, like how it's a 50/50 shot that you'll be lactose intolerant after - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary 6/11/2012
Cluck21 4 Posted March 17, 2013 I think I'm having an intolerance to eggs strangely only if scrambled. My GI system becomes super grumbly loud, gassy (from both ends), and diarrhea. I once pan fried an egg and don't recall having this trouble. Even weirder is that one scrambled egg was "real" the other was Egg Beater. I think I'm just going to back off eggs for a while. Try hard boiled eggs, but remember the yolk will raise your cholesterol so you might limit the yolks. Jessica. can't wait to start this journey. nienie 113 Posted March 17, 2013 Scrambled eggs have been my go to food I have been eating them since 3 weeks out. It amazes me just how different each of us are with what we tolerate and don't tolerate. I am thankful eggs don't bother me. 1 Cluck21 reacted to this
kiwiladydee 402 Posted March 18, 2013 I just could never digest eggs!!! I would eat and feel instantly sick like I was going to vomit right away. I'm 9 months out and I still can't eat them. I can tolerate egg white omelette with lots of veggies. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk
