Before surgery I usually could only drink Water if it was cold or.sometimes I'd even add a little sugar for flavor (I know, bad).

Since drinking cold drinks don't agree with me too well, I haven't been drinking plain water. It's just not the same for me at room temperature. So my liquid intake has been mainly Fruit20 or Crystal Light. Someone told me these have a lot of.sodium. I think about maybe trying plain water With some Sweet N Low...

I also plan to try Isopure drink...I need the Protein.

Any ideas on how else to keep hydrated?

Crystal light does not have sodium, it's the main drink at our house.

I drink crystal light lemonade and it has 35mg of sodium. I wouldn't worry about that small amount... if it helps you drink the Water then so be it. The most important thing is to stay hydrated.

Oh thank goodness, I love Crystal Light. I recently tried the fruit Punch flavor and it's great! Tastes like Hawain Punch, I love it. Going to.the market tomorrow to look for it and stock up :) hope they have it in stock! Thanks.

I've been long for it because I really want to try it. They just have the regular Kool Aid at my local grocery store. I don't know if I have a Walmart here but I'll keep looking! Thanks!

I like diet snapple cranberry raspberry, I add Water to it because it tastes sweet to me now. The 16 oz bottle is 1 serving and has 10mg sodium, 3 sugars and 20 calories. If you find it sweet too and water it down you can stretch your Fluid intake out from the 16oz serving to 24 or even 32 oz. just sip away!!

Clarification...we make pitchers of crystal light and keep em in the fridge, those have no sodium, the individual packets do have a little.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
