Buying New Clothes- Have you ever...

Recommended Posts

So I've finally lost enough to need new clothes (77#!). I was in Old Navy yesterday and found myself trying on items in sizes that pre-op Sarah would have tried on, ie XXL dresses...of course they swallowed me up (insert dressing room happy dance here!), but I couldn't bring myself to even grab the Large off the rack since, "There's no way I could be a Large!" I ended up leaving without a dress at all!! How did y'all get over this??

I hear ya! I usually bring in several sizes and work up/down one size at a time. I'm sure that's what I'll be doing once I start shopping lol

It would help if there was a standard size. Some places I'm a large other xl. And some the xl doesn't fit. I can vary even in the same brand. Don't get me started on pants and jeans. I'm almost afraid to try stuff on. I have a couple of pairs of 14 jeans but some 16 I can't get on. Weird.

It all depends where they are in the pills when they cut them usually 50-10 pieces at at time that way sizes very even with the same brand and when the sew it the could put a little deeper seam which makes it smaller so just take a few different sizes are even same sizes cause everyone could be a little different

Denim for jeans is cut by hand so even in the same brand and same size it's always best to try them on, may fit differently. I learned that when I worked at Avenue.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
