LOVEN THE SMALL CHANGES

Recommended Posts

Its been 5 weeks and 4 days since surgery ...either I have an amazing doctor or I just handled the gastric bypass extremely well. I lost 35 pounds...every time I get on the scale a few more pounds are gone :) I haven't had any real trouble with food or Protein. I did have a problem with apple juice ..my stomach just hurt so badly! I have not tried it again i am gonna wait LOL I started going to the gym 7 days after surgery and walking on the tread mill. People have told me how good I am looking ..I just have a tough time seeing it in the mirror. BUT...I see it in my clothes and how big they are getting ..what a great feeling! If anyone ever said this was easy...its surely not! Its work! As is anything in life that is positive ...all I can say is keep fighting the good fight. Never give up! I promised myself that from the day of surgery (1/23/13) I will never give up on anything again! I will strive to always push forward and never stop again ...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
