I absolutely can't find a Protein I like or that doesn't make me yucky from the awful taste....

I've tried...

Isopure-mango peach, alpine punch, grape frost by theirselves or mixed with Water

Premier Protein

Pure protein

Ensure high protein

Atkins

whey protein from Walmart

Body fortress

Lean shakes

Wheybolic60

Muscle milk

Nitrotech

A couple others from Walmart

What am I going to do? I'm still on soft foods due to a complication so at this point I have to use supplements. I keep thinking what am I going to do? I'm so struggling.

Oh and before surgery I was tolerating these fine. It's just been since surgery I'm so turned off.

Order some Unjury... they have sample packets.

Jay Robb you can find in the grocery store or whole foods... it's kind of expensive

I'm in the same boat, have not found a single supplement I can stand yet. I think I might get some of the unflavored and add it to my regular foods. Has anyone else done that? Does it change the taste/texture at all?

Also I'm going to ask my nutritionist about Tropical smoothie when I see her. I went through their nutritional menu and found 3 that I may be able to do with Splenda. They can add Protein shots to them.

I really am trying here. I used to love milk even skim. Since surgery it just doesn't sit well. I know it sounds crazy but I get light headed and have stomach cramps. That's why I tried the clear Isopure thinking it was a lactose thing but that makes me feel swimmy too. :(. Getting depressed here

Try the no sugar carnation instant breakfast blended with some Greek yogurt and skim milk. Toss is an ice cube. I use two packs of the carnation and have a great high Protein drink that I can toss with more ice and sip. It's the only one I can tolerate.

Try unjury or Syntrax nectar. I like the kiwi strawberry and tropical mango. From Unjury I like chicken Soup (broth) and strawberry sorbet. There are also nonflavored ones you can add to foods. Don't give up. I can't do any Protein drinks that are milky-they make me gag..

I should add both unjury and nectar have 100 calories and Protein unjury 21 and nectar 34. Low carb no added sugar...

Also Unjury has samples and so does vitalady.com..you can try them instead of having to buy a huge container...

I use EAS Protein Shakes (ready made) from Wal-Mart. They're only $4.97 for four, and I really like them when they're cold. The strawberry and vanilla are delicious. They have 100 calories each and have 17 grams of Protein. They're also low carb.

Thanks for your help everyone. I am going to keep trying. I am currently getting 30-40 grams of Protein a day which is so not enough but I'm gagging getting that in.

All you can do is keep trying; I was having major issues initially also and kept trying and asking people what they used until I found some products I can tolerate. I had my six week follow up yesterday and my surgeon was so happy that I kept trying as Protein is so important to get in and also will help keep us healthy and help prevent your hair from getting really bad.

I know I am so worried for my hair and teeth. Does that make me vain?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
