Tep104 3 Posted March 6, 2013 That is normal, we all were. I was very apprehensive but everything turned out fine. The first couple of weeks are the hardest (but not too bad, considering). I am 7 months post-op and down 113lbs. No real complications and not that much pain or discomfort after surgery (except for gas pain). Good luck tomorrow and keep us posted on your progress. SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted March 6, 2013 I guess I'm lucky, I really didn't have much gas pain. I did take gas-x strips to the hospital jus in case....and I've heard a heating pad helps (the heating pad is now the love of my life!!!) SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted March 6, 2013 Why a heating pad and why gas-x strips? Janel My pain hasn't been intense, I get more relief and comfort from the heating pad then from anything else. Gas-x strips to cut down on post-op gas some people have. shellbell73 13 Posted March 6, 2013 I'm gonna have to get something like that
cralls 5 Posted March 6, 2013 Walk around as soon as you feel up to it. Walking around will get thing moving and help release the pain. Also don't get discouraged if it takes some time to pass. I could get the gas pains to go away and pass gas until I was able to start taking liquids but walking around relieved the discomfort a lot.
