madenkorea 36 Posted March 4, 2013 today it was a success I lost a total of 19 pounds so far . my surgeon said I can work out and I can eat regular food long as I get all my Proteins and nothing bigger than the size of a white bread sandwich quantity wise. lucky me I get to skip the puree phase unlike some people instead of having 5 incisions I had to have 7 due to having my hernia patched and have a piece of my stomach taken out due to acid reflux

agirlofaith 71 Posted March 5, 2013 Good job Maden!! I go tomorrow for my follow up- my surgery was also feb 20th. I had 6 cuts but nothing out of the ordinary. I've done super great on food- the oddest things I've had has been roasted sweet potato fries (light toss with evoo, salt, pepper, garlic pwdr, onion powder and garam masala) and then I fried an egg over easy and broke it on about 1/4 c of the mashed fries! It was so good- had to eat it in 2 different settings! Tonight I crock potted skinless boneless thighs with our home made salsa, can of chilies and taco seasoning and a block of cream cheese. It was so tender I smashed it up- put about an 1/8 of a cup in a bowl, sprinkled a tiny bit of Mexican cheese blend and added a few spoon fulls of the juice from the can of corn I heated for everyone else. DELISH!! Seems I'm tolerating things great and chewing until its liquid and taking tiny bites! Also listening to how I feel while eating so I don't push myself! Haven't been sick or anything yet. I love maltomeal too with Protein powder added, but I'm pretty much done with sf puddings and sf Jello and other full liquids like that. Hope she says I'm doing ok even though I'm early on! agirlofaith 71 Posted March 6, 2013 No reason other then she doesn't want any kind of 'solid' foods next to the stitches in my pouch. She wants it to get good and healed. I can understand that, last thing I want to do is blow a gasket! I had 6 incisions, not 7- they are healing up just great and she said would be totally flat once healed.
