I have my sleep study tonight. I'm not nervous but I hate the whole process. I guess the one thing that I have going for me is that this is the last thing I need to do before I get my surgery date. I don't check in until 8:30 so that makes it easy for me to go to sleep right after I'm hooked up. I have a feeling I'm gonna get better sleep there than at home....now that would be funny

I did a home sleep study. It so sucked!! I now have my CPAP and I can't find a mask I like. I am using it every night though. Try try again right.

I use a full face mask. The nose ones just never worked out for me. Plus my bipap levels are 21-19 so i really have to tighten my mask up so it does not leak. Is just a pain in the butt.

My leaks a little. I go through at least three head gear for the life of the mask. It sucks and i go through tantrums like a two year old. But i also have insomnia so i do not sleep all night which causes me to rip it off. One day i pray i will say good bye to the machine but i also was over a hundred pounds lighter when i got it so i doubt that will ever happen.

I had one mask that I hated more than all the others. The one that goes up your nose. Man that one sucked so bad. One night I only slept with it for about a hour. I woke up and said screw this thing and ripped it off and went back to sleep!! Lol I'm hoping once I loose weight I acn get rid of the damn thing.

Haven't tried that one yet. My Rt mentioned my levels are to high for that type. I've tried so many its ridiculous. So I just finally said to hell with it and went back to the full face mask.

I tried the full face mask for 2 nights. It leaked like crazy. Went back to the nose one last night. I can sleep on my side with it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
