I'm a carb addict. Right now I can only have strained Soups, SF pudding and Jello, and unsweetened applesauce. I'd give anything right now for some French fries or Mac & cheese, or even some cauliflower. The only things that I actually enjoy are applesauce and Tomato Soup with a little low fat sour cream in it. Don't start soft foods until March 15th :( I'm going to go crazy before then.

I know how you feel. I was in such a rush to progress with the diet and when I finally got to the purée and soft foods I couldn't handle it. Now I'm just eating yogurt and shakes etc.

Boyfriend just called he's on his way home and wanted to know if he should eat in the car so I don't see or smell the food lol. He's sweet :) I told him he can eat in front of me, but if he's getting French fries those need to be gone before he comes in LOL

it gets better take it from someone who watches the food Network channel everyday. I even ate out at a restaurant for the first time since my gastric bypass it was a Chinese restaurant. I had the Water down a drop Soup everything that we need and my friends and family had the buffet and they didn't even like it plus they paid 8 dollars each and only paid 2 dollars and I even got full for the first time which i don't really like feeling full never have.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
