Aimee 17 Posted March 3, 2013 Hi. I am 4 weeks post-op and have thrown up once on Wed and 5 times between last night and today. Anyone else have or had this poroblem. If so, how do you remedy it and what do you eat to get out of it and not continue to vomit. Thanks! I had the same problem at 4 weeks. I called my surgeon and they wanted me to have an EGD (scope),had my EGD on Friday and found out I had a stricture. They dilated it and I am doing wonderful now. I know its probably not what you want to hear but if it makes you feel better then it is worth it. I would call your surgeon ASAP as you do not want to dehydrate. Best of luck and keep us posted. Jessica9190 127 Posted March 3, 2013 Same problem here at 4 weeks. I threw up for 4 days. By the time I called my doctor and went in I was dehydrated and low on potassium. I also had a stricture. They dilated me as well and I'm keeping down full liquids. My doctor scolded me for not calling sooner. Don't make that mistake.

MalyKitty 0 Posted March 14, 2013 What a stricture?
Kellyk2511 282 Posted March 14, 2013 What a stricture? He explained its the scar tissue forming at the bottom of the pouch where it meets the intestines. Sometimes too much scar tissue makes the opening too small, so they have to stretch it out a little bit. Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk

jessiegirl22 91 Posted March 31, 2013 I have had the stricture procedure dont twice already and fixing to have my 3rd one. I have asked if there is anytjing I can do to help it not happen and my dr said no some people just have it more than others! I hate having them but the procedure isnt painful just a little gasy after it! Good luck with getting it fixed
