I'm 2 1/2 weeks out from surgery. I just had my first episode of vomiting. I got a really sharp pain in the center of my chest and lost my lunch. (tuna) How can I avoid this from happening again?

Well, you might have been eating to fast, eating to big of a bit. I have found you have to take really small bites and chew until it is puree in your mouth..

For me personally it was a while before I could handle tuna. At 2 weeks I was pureed stage and was eating Soups and other creamy things. When I did finally start on tuna, chicken etc.. it had to be really wet.. like alot of ff mayo. I started with rotisserie chicken from walmart.. .dark meat as it seemed moister. Little bites and chew the hell out of it.

Best advice I can give is don't wait until you're hungry to eat, that's when mistakes happen. When you wait you usually eat too fast, too many big bites and don't chew long enough. It's important to eat distraction free (&slowly) so you can focus on the signals your brain is giving your body. For me, meats and breads sit heaviest, so I have to make sure to strictly limit the amounts and make sure the bread isn't doughy.

Sometimes your pouch gets grouchy too. At those times it rejects food and theres nothing you can do. Swelling is common in the beginning and the pouch wont fit hardly anything. My biggest struggles were around week 3 when my pouch was swollen.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
