Hello, I'm glad your surgery went well. What are high keyones? So you only took a week off work and you feel completely healed or your still a little sore? I don't have my surgery date yet but I was thinking of getting a week off work, but wasn't sure if that was enough time.

Hi Mia, my surgery went great, as you see in my previous post. I never had pain. If anything I describe it as having your gallbladder removed no pain just tender around belly button area. I dd take pain meds in hosp as scheduled whether I needed them or not. I slept, peed, walked. Over &over. It went really well for me. Off pain meds since 2/21. I work as a clinical research coordinator so desk work. Gook luck.

Day 1 back to work down. It went great, no problems. Reminder to self: drink your water! It helps. Ready for bed now.

Isn't that pushing it? My surgeon recommends a month off for healing. He says ill feel like returning but my insides need to heal. Be careful all you who plan on limited time off. You've had major reworking of your innards!!

Would the WLS and a c-section be considered the same? Both of them has to do with your insides needing healing.

Hi ladies still doing well. Yes I guess you could it's pushing it but I kinda had no choice. I work in a 2person office and my counter partner had an out of town trip planned so I had to gt back. It was a good thing I didn't have any complications. Huh. Then she was supposed to be back today and her son ended up having an appendicitis out of town. So he will n hospital till Wednesday. So I'm flying sole. Believe me I am there sitting behind a desk only. I will not over do it or hurt myself. I love me too much. Lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
