I am just over 6 weeks out. My main Protein source is still a Protein Drink. I personally am scared of food :) so good for u for trying food.

But I always read if a stall increase protein and go back to basics. Try liquid only for a few days and see if that helps. I was also told that even at 6 weeks out I should be at about 600-700 calories a day. And start to measure ur self!!!! Weeks that I only loose a few pounds I see my inches change and that helps.

I personally haven't dropped many pant sizes, although I'm at a total loss of 67lbs. By belly is still to big.

Look for NSV too. Like can you tie your shoes better or are you walking better. Little things that don't always show on the scale.

Good luck to you!!!

Just spoke to my nutrionist. Said theres no such thing as eating too little an amount of calories, I there was than anorexia wouldn't work. Body does not go into starvation mode. Said the 1/4 - 1/2 cup I'm eating is ok, I'm having no pain or vomiting so I'm not eating too much. She said fro what I told her I'm doing pefectly. Some of you guys can't have meat right now or this or that but on my program I can. She said I lost alot the week of the surgery (17) so it's not unusual that I haven't lost anything yet, it'll happen.

17 pounds in one week is TONS of weight. I would keep doing what you are doing. Hide the scale if you have to for a bit and go with measurements and how your clothes feel. Glad she was able to reassure you.

Every program is so different. So, I wouldn't worry about comments about people stating they couldn't eat this or that until x months. I am 5 weeks out and still on stage 3 which is foods that can be easily mashed with fork. Some people 5 weeks out are eating regular food. You are doing what YOUR program expects from you. Sure hope you start to see that scale move soon...

Glad you talked to your nutritionist. If she said notion worry, then I wouldn't worry:). Put the scale away and just focus in her guidance...I had gained 8 pounds the day I got home from the hospital from all the fluids and about had a heart attack...if you lost 17 that first week then you did awesome.

I put a call in to to the nutritionist and they'll be calling me back. And thank you for answering me in a non - talking down to way. I get that the plate looked big but it was literally one piece of cauliflower' date=' 3 ounces of meatloaf and potatoes I didn't finish.

I am exercising and using the my fitness pal app to track my calories. Had maybe 900 calories yesterday. I was 298 to start, 273 at surgery time, and one week post op was 255 and two weeks later I'm 254.5. Clothes feel looser and people see a difference but I don't. And contrary to what people are saying I don't think the surgery is a magic trick, but eating next to nothing twice a day and gettig tons of liquid and the correct amount of Protein PLUS exercising, and nothing happening, is discouraging.[/quote']

U lost almost 20 pounds the first week. That's a lot. I lost 9. I am one week out but not allowed to have carbs or meatloaf for the first month of surgery. I am on all protien shake for two more weeks then I can have tuna, cottage cheese, and crab meat for a week or two before i can move to any food that is not puréed. Good job on the post op weight loss.

Din din

That is way too much. Keep it under 2 oz. potatoes are starch, my surgeon personally doesn't allow them

You are not allowed to eat meatloaf on stage 2 so you really need to speak to your doctor about revamping your diet phase 2 consist of mushy foods yogurt and non fat pudding. Phrase 3 consist of flacky food such as chicken salad, shrimp salad and meatballs. Please keep me posted and good luck do not give up

I appreciate people trying to help, but this is the way my program is. Stage 2 you're allowed meat, meatloaf, eggs. That's the way my program is run. Talked to my nutrionist and she said I'm doing perfectly

I think the stages are different for everyone bc stage two for me was full liquids ie oatmeal, yogurt, Jello, Soup broth or strained soup. Stage 3 for my program is mushy food anything that can be mushed with a fork,

Just like I thought everyone's stages are different. You just have to follow what your program wants like you are doing. You got this!!! :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
