Lady grace 1 Posted February 26, 2013 I'm 1 month post op today and still have no energy to work out or even walk on a treadmill. Before surgery I was very active and had plenty of energy. I take all my Vitamins, get in most of my Protein goal and drink fluids constantly. Did anyone else feel this way? 1 theresainmpls reacted to this
jerz 251 Posted February 26, 2013 I'm 1 month post op too and I have 0 energy. I usually have to force myself. I just walked a few blocks to the supermarket and was utterly exhausted when I got there. I hear it gets better as time goes on but for now I say we just have to push ourselves. NurseTAB 65 Posted February 26, 2013 It's that way for awhile the decreaed calorie intake, major surgery. I didn't feel like myself for a good 2 months if not longer. Just take it easy until ya feel like yourself, body's way of telling ya to relax. 1 rockin jessie reacted to this
Windy 4 Posted March 4, 2013 My nutritionist said the fatigue is normal and your bodies way of telling you to rest and take the time to heal. I'm finally gradually getting back to feeling normal-still a ways to go-can finally walk for more than 5 min without having to lie down, but its been a slow process. Still get light headed. My surgery was Jan 14th. 1 Lady grace reacted to this
Lady grace 1 Posted March 4, 2013 Thanks! I'm finally starting to get a little more energy. Tomorrows goal is to start a walking program. I'll be 5 weeks post-op and feel a bit behind.
tzbandtobypass 48 Posted March 4, 2013 I was exhausted for about 6 weeks. It seemed like it was all I could do to go to work all day and drive myself home but then one day I woke up and was feeling more like my old self. I've been to the gym just about every day for a week. It's nice to finally have some energy again, but give yourself the time you need to heal. 1 Lady grace reacted to this

I know that's 1 of the shot so wanted to have.
Lady grace 1 Posted March 7, 2013 I'm actually taking B12 tabs everyday. I think the Vitamins are kicking in now. I'm feeling alittle stronger and even walked 20mins on the treadmill today. Still took a short nap after dinner.< /p>
sapperwife26 7 Posted March 19, 2013 I hated it when I felt like I had no energy. My Iron and B12 helped. I'm 6 weeks out or so. 1 Lady grace reacted to this
Lady grace 1 Posted March 19, 2013 I also think the B12 and Iron is really helping. Finally, not freezing and can stay awake all day. I still feel like a nap after I exercise but feeling strong.

nursejb 38 Posted May 19, 2013 Nurse TAB, if you Don't mind me asking how long were you off of work. I'm a nurse on a Busy unit and am wondering if 6 week recovery and time off of work is enough
