Recommended Posts

Last night we went out to dinner, after i cleared everything off my plate into the togo box it was nice just to watch people eat. Geesh! 2 small bites and salmon was all i could do. What a shocker for me.

I haven't been out to eat yet however was talking to my friend who's a head cook did you know that most meat is dipped in butter then cooked on a flat top. 99% of Restraunts do this. He said to always ask for it grilled.

I get cup of seafood chowder and that's my meal. I can't even finish it.

I love seafood bisque but afraid it will make me dump. Do you have any dumping?

I haven't dumped yet! There should be no sugar in seafood bisque. You can always ask at restaurants too if your afraid.

.

I'm actually very nervous about this....

not so much about the food, but about the waste of money....

I am only 1 wk out, but in 5-6 weeks, political events begin for me which means being around a lot of food and lunch/dinner events. I cannot decline many of them but just feel as if so much will be a waste. I do plan to bring left overs home when possible, though it's a bit tacky to do so.

I need a FULL LIST of what I CAN eat. Luckily, I have been a fickle eater much of my life and I don't endulge in sweets and carbs....

I do look forward to the meats.< /p>

I do not look forward to the money though :(

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
