Weight loss celebration ideas

Recommended Posts

Hi All!,

As I am nearing the 100 pound weight loss mark, I was wondering have any of you done something special to Celebrate

your weight loss milestones? I still have a long way to go until my goal weight of 150, but I want to do something meaningful to celebrate the fact that I will have lost 100 pounds.

Thanks for the help! :D

Our hospital has an event called "the centurion" (sp) to mark the loss of over 100 lbs. I am flying out there. Hundreds of people...and you speak. Pretty awesome event.

That sounds great! I'll have to check to see if my hospital has anything like that. Does anyone set rewards for weight loss goals met? I was thinking of checking out my area for local hiking trails to Celebrate or maybe a getting a pedicure after the hike?

My mom awards me at every 25 pounds...yes, my mom...yes, I'm 33!! Usually with some sort of salon service...highlights, spa day, etc. I LOVE the Pandora idea...I have 3 pesky pounds to my 75# goal!!

I have a pandora Bracelet and every 25 lbs my husband buys a charm to represent the pounds gone. :)

DOS 12/17/12 :)

Love this idea...something you can actually put your hands on and watch add up. Great idea!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
