Loveitaly33 0 Posted February 18, 2013 Hi everyone, I'm 3 months out and thrilled with the results so far. I heard you can eventually have coffee after bypass. When???? I'll call my surgeon to check, but wonder what you guys have heard? Signed, Latte'-less in Seattle!

kisersassy 369 Posted February 18, 2013 I am 3 months post op and drink about 10 ounces of coffee a day. Somedays are less. You just have to drink more Water to make up for drinking it
kristy3k 1,133 Posted February 18, 2013 I started drinking coffee at 9 months out... about 8 oz a day.
Lebim 381 Posted February 18, 2013 Hi everyone' date=' I'm 3 months out and thrilled with the results so far. I heard you can eventually have coffee after bypass. When???? Signed, Latte'-less in Seattle![/quote'] I can drink coffee but it's always better to drink Decaf, otherwise it's a diuretic which essentially negative Water which isn't good since we need to be hydrated. My surgeon said I could drink coffee basically less than a month post op. watch out for the half&half, it's a killer for calories - Kaylee Ann ~ Surgerversary 6/11/2012
bakawaka 108 Posted February 18, 2013 I made my own Decaf coffee Syrup using the cold-brew method. It filters out the acid. Please note: I do not work for a coffee company. I also do not work for the company whose product I am mentioning here. I use the Toddy Cold Brew System that literally filters out acid. Loveitaly33 0 Posted February 18, 2013 Thank you, everyone, for your help and suggestions! I'll ease into this coffee thing! I've done everything by the book and don't want to mess up now. To answer as to how I'm doing... I've lost 57 pounds and I am SO happy! It's slowing down a little now, but I have to keep reminding myself how much I've lost. For those of you on the fence-DO IT!
