Kimberly 11 Posted April 15, 2013 Pre op diet day four' date=' it hasn't been too bad actually. I'm surprised.[/quote'] I start my pre op diet tomorrow ugh two weeks :0( but it will be worth it in the end
Sparklette 381 Posted April 15, 2013 I start my pre op diet tomorrow ugh two weeks :0( but it will be worth it in the end I have two weeks also, I'm on 3 shakes a day with a low fat high Protein dinner. It honestly hasn't been that bad. I keep myself distracted with tedious crafts or planning in my down time. I've also been going to bed earlier to keep my self from late night snacking. This is nothing compared to how I was when I quit smoking. That was a nightmare on wheels.
TxDumplin 69 Posted April 15, 2013 Wow, so many have to do the two week pre op diet? I only have to diet 3 days before surgery??? Just goes to show how different doctors are. Still trying to decide what i want my last meal to be...
TxDumplin 69 Posted April 15, 2013 Love being home! I feel pretty great! I had a rough time right after surgery- kept throwing up- but since there was nothing to throw up it was dry heaves/convulsions. Several IV's of Zofran, nausea patch and everything they could give me- the nausea finally subsided! They kept me one night extra in the hospital but I was released today! I've managed to walk off most of the has pains and the gas ex strips that you let melt on your tongue have been awesome! My incisions are starting to itch but other than that I feel awesome!! I've been drinking (sipping) on my Isopure and Water and was completely full after eating 1/4 of a slice of cheese! So glad you are home safe and sound. That must feel really weird being full on such a small amount. Walk and sip, walk and sip, walk and sip.....

MrsLulu 69 Posted April 15, 2013 Mine was all liquids too, and it was really tough!! I did have a few bites of food though. Out of all 14 days, I had about 3 bites of chicken and a few shrimp, and a piece of deli turkey. I was STARVING! You are lucky you get to have real food during your pre-op. Best of luck :-) 1 Sparklette reacted to this

Just do as your surgeon directed, and everything should be okay.

Mel3620 299 Posted April 15, 2013 Good Luck today everyone! How are you doing Wendilou? Are you managing postop okay? I have been thinking about you because I haven't seen you post lately.
Wendilou 180 Posted April 15, 2013 How are you doing Wendilou? Are you managing postop okay? I have been thinking about you because I haven't seen you post lately. Thanks for asking, Mel! I'm really doing very well. I was able to stop taking my pain meds yesterday. I still have a tiny amount of abdominal discomfort, but it's very manageable. I am struggling with the clear liquid diet though. I am so sick of broth!!! And I have another week to go on clears unfortunately. I have no trouble drinking my 64 oz. daily though.
