Hello! I did great with zero complications. I'm in a little pain but its being treated with meds. I had to walk three laps yesterday which was pretty easy. Today I'll have to walk 6-8 laps. I am also going home today around 5pm. Can't believe I'm a post opper!! I hope everyone else's went well and good luck to everyone that's having surgery today! This is so exciting!

I'm so glad everything went smoothly for you! isn't the excitement weird? I was not expecting to feel that, but I can't wait to go home and get on the treadmill and start living a more active life !

Ok. So I had my surgery yesterday. Lap band removal to rny. Surgery was supposed to take an hour and a half but took four. When I you the lap band they fixed a hiatal hernia. My doc says my last surgeon did not fix it the right way so he had to redo it. Also I had a lot of scar tissue even though I only had the band for two years. I had sx at 7:30am, but did not make it into a room until 6:30 am because there were none available. My husband stayed with me he whole time and stayed the night. My parents had to leave before I got in a room and will be coming back to visit today. I was told I will likely be going home tomorrow. I cannot have anything to drink until I have my upper gi later this morning. Do far so good and not hungry at all!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
