So frustrated....as ive posted in the past few days ive been having problems aince u had my egd last week ...

So this am i get a call with results from my CT scan yesterday and she tells me i have a hernia and the dr wants to see me tomorrow to talk about it then says ok now dont freak out but you have a nodule on your lungs and need to see a pulmonologist and get a CT of my lungs so first i freaked out then called to see pulmonologist and went and saw him today and he scheduled me for CT and PFT next Wednesday and said the risk that my nodule is cancer is a low risk but i will have to be checked for at least 2 yrs but then he said i might have to postpone surgery if my nightcough doesn't go away!

Oh Pebulz! I'm so sorry you are having these complications. You must be so frustrated. I also have a hernia which they will fix during the surgery. It's good that they found the nodule on your lung so it can be watched and taken care of if need be. I hope you don't have to postpone your surgery, but I'd rather have you safe than go under anesthesia and have breathing problems. be strong, you will get through this!

Need help my friends, I have 20 days til my surgery and I've not got my mindset in line: I've not ordered my Protein or Vitamins, I've not been to store buying the proper foods, is this normal to feel stuck in disbelief that this is really happening ??

Also I drink 2-3 cups of coffee(Folgers Blacksilk) with coffemate liquid vanilla Creamer , will I be able to drink it up to surgery and directly after? I don't have to have the full amount, but wonder if I should be changing the kind I drink and without creamer?? I know I don't wanna deal with headaches from caffeine withdraws, Please give me your best advice!! I need serious motivation!!

Thanks, Janet

Don't know CW? HW 309..

I started getting my protein a few weeks before surgery. As for the coffee and creamer it is best if you do de-cafe on a liquid diet if you have to do one and after surgery to help the healing process. But always talk to your Dr. to see if you should start cutting back on the coffee and creamer. I saw on the paperwork my dr office gave me non dairy creamer.

I think your feelings are normal--plus you haven't gotten any instructions from your doctor yet. I would definitely suggest you pick up some different Protein powders to find one you like. Wait to order your Vitamins till after your appt with the doc--they might give you some samples. But definitely get some because they are very important to take after surgery. You don't want any Vitamin deficiencies.

As far as the coffee goes, all docs are different. Mine had me quit two weeks before the surgery; others don't care. But AFTER the surgery you cannot have coffee with caffeine because it may cause ulcers on your brand new baby pouch. It also causes dehydration and you're gonna have a hard enough time getting your liquids in. I think once you are 6 months out, you can try adding caffeine back in, but it's best to ask your doctor what he recommends.

once you have the Pre-op appt with your doc, I have a feeling you'll get more in the game.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
