WOW stepped on the scale this morning to see the numbers 164 if i take that with my height shows my bmi at 24.2 in the normal range no longer overweight i may be a guy but i'm about to cry never in a million yrs did i ever think i would be normal weight wise. In one week i will be 6 mos out had rny on 8/22/12

one thing i notice is a lot of bmi calculators are slightly off from each other but they all put me under 25

It's nice to be normal. To wear normal clothes, fit in an airplane seat and have the seatbelt reach around, to know that you finally fit in! Congratulations. I can't wait!

I wanted to say I had a similar milestone today. Im a week post op tomorrow and I've dropped 3 BMI numbers and I'm out of "morbidly obese" and just "obese" now. Still a long way to go but a step in the right direction!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
