And your Dr. said that was a realistic goal? Oh I so hope so. I would love to see 125 again...

He would be happy with 130 - 135 but I'm only 5 feet I would still be 'overweight' ... According to standards I should be between 95 and 125 to be healthy so I'm aiming at 115.

The day of surgery 1/08/13 my bmi was 39.. I weight 234.. I'm 5ft 2in.. My weight 6 weeks later is 209.. My surgeon want me to get down to 130lbs. I haven't been that weight since I was 14 and I'm now 40. But I know I can do it cuz it gets easier as each day goes by! Good luck to everyone on this journey

I'm feeling pretty good...a little sore, but it's manageable with pain meds...I have 7 incisions because I also had my hernia repaired. I've been documenting my journey on YouTube. RNYKrista

I had a hernia too! It was right under my breast bone.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
