Gaining...help

Recommended Posts

I've been slowly gaining weight and I need some advice. I'm one year + out from RNY and I know I've been eating all the wrong things, but I seem to always be hungry! Anyone else experience this? How did you "kick-start" your correct diet again?

Hi there i haven't had the surgery yet i been told by others who had RNY that when you start seeing the weight gain to get back to basics. High Protein low carb and Water should help keep hunger away long enough to keep the snacking at bay

Yes. Go back to your pre or post surgery diet long enough to kick start your loss again.

How are you doing with Water? Are you still waiting at least 1/2 hr before & after meals? Drinking with or too soon can push the food through & increase hunger. Hang in there & try getting back to basics.

Detoxing will restart your body and not make you want the crap food once you're done.

Are you working out? Focusing on your Protein? What is your calorie intake? In order to gain weight you need to take in 3500 calories daily. Call your dr and nutritionist, talk with them.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
