Hi everyone. Ok had surgery 2/19. Everything went great. I took my pain & nausea meds as timed. I never had any pain never threw up nothing. At most it was discomfort like when your gallbladder is taken out. You do go to the bathroom a lot. Day 1 surgery from 1130-130 wake in my room at 4pm had to go to bathroom then got up to walk. I walked everytime I went to rr. Day 2 got up took a shower did hair &makeup wanted to feel like me. A shower works wonders. Now able to drink Water 6- 1oz cups an hour It can be done. Can eat Jello and walk. Day 3 up at 530 showered dressed and ready for doc at 730 he said everything looks good I can go home after lunch. Stuck with pain meds schedule napped @w2pm came home. Tooks meds and went to sleep. Mom brought home made chicken Soup broth. It's the best. Had 8-9 oz took meds after family left went to sleep. Today is day 4 woke up at 730 had some water drinks, came down stairs made a Protein Shake drank it. Went up stairs showered , hair , makeup. Cleaned the upstairs, now having some soup then a walk outside, I will take a 1/2 dose of liquid pain med and nap. I'm home alone, I hate it, if I could drive I would go to work.

My surgery was 2/19 as well. I am in Oklahoma. No issues so far. I forget to take small sips of Water, but no real issues with that either. I can get in the water, but working on 85 grams of Protein. We are supposed to get a large snow storm today. I keep walking around the house. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
