KristinaRnY 455 Posted February 21, 2014 Wow you look incredible! You should be so proud of how far you have come!!! I understand your feelings of not wanting this surgery to define you because so many of us have been defined by our weight our entire life. You just want to live your life in your new beautiful "earth suit." :-p congratulations, you are an inspiration. 1 pquinn181 reacted to this
krista1020 14 Posted February 22, 2014 Hi everyone Hope you don't mind me jumping in. I'm a February 2014 surgery (2/3) and I'm wondering from you all, what 3 things you would tell yourself 11 months ago now that you've BTDT. Thanks 1. Exercise is key 2. Always remember that you were awesome before surgery- sometimes I let others make me feel like I'm awesome now but must have been pretty gross before...just understand you are still you- just in a smaller package 3. Watch out for the carb creep...I can tolerate way more carbs now than I could right out of surgery and I have to be careful

pookybear 284 Posted February 23, 2014 Less than a week until my one year! Down 127 since surgery, 147 total (I was required to lost 20 before surgery). I was hoping to be down more by my one year, but I'm fine with where I am! My goal is to lost a total of 200 lbs, which would put me at 219. I don't know if I'll make it there, but as long as I get below 250 I will be a happy girl. I wouldn't want to be below 200, I don't want to be really skinny. I like being curvy and having meat on me And as long as I'm healthy, the number doesn't matter. And with my frame, I think anything below 219 I'd start to look sickly lol I have not set foot in a plus size store in I can't tell you how long (other than Lane Bryant for bras and underwear). I paid off my Avenue charge card and cut it up, won't be using that anymore! I've been enjoying being able to shop at Walmart, Old Navy, Savers, etc. I love it, I can get nice clothes and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg! People at work keep telling me I'm getting so skinny. I laugh, because I'm still in a size 18-22 which is not skinny. But when you compare that to how big I was, yeah I guess I can see what they mean! But the best thing is that when I walk in a room, I feel like I blend in. It doesn't feel like people stare at me anymore, I feel like I go unnoticed. Which sounds weird, but I love it. I feel 'normal', I don't feel like I stand out for being the fattest one anymore 1 Kookichu reacted to this
kat77 63 Posted March 19, 2014 Hi everyone just writing to see how you all are doing. I got a new smart phone, so now I can keep up with everybody. I wanted to say hi and I hope there's more of you that are still on the website. I hope we can all get back in touch. I'm a year out since February 6th and I have lost about 140 pounds. in my last visit Dr. says he doesn't want me to lose anymore weight and so I'm just trying to maintain right now, which I haven't figured out how to do. I'm 5'9" and wearing a size 5-6 tall women's or a seven tall in juniors. No boobies left. I am a 34 dd but it's mostly skin. Very glad I did the surgery, but I don't like my body. Since I have this smart phone I can post more so I hope there are still some February girls left. I hope you all are doing well. I hope to get to talk to you soon I'm also on MyFitnessPal as katsmfp and would love to get and give some support. Take care and if you would like to text let me know... I have unlimited text and calling too now. I really want to support each other too. This is a critical time for us all. Kat
