sassy14 178 Posted May 1, 2013 Does everyone have an incision like this?? I haven't had my surgery yet.... But I was under the impression that its about 5 lil holes ... Kinda like my Gallbladder surgery. Hmmm I have six tiny incisions. The incisions were no problem--no external stitches, just glue that dissolved off in a few weeks. monken 135 Posted May 1, 2013 I am taking my Vitamins. Not B12 though. Now this is my weird story with B12: For several years I have struggled to keep my B12 levels above 400' date=' I was only able to do this with weekly injections. (This is pre surgery). So most people after weight loss surgery have trouble with B12 and take a supplement or get injections regularly. I believe it's the most common deficiency post operatively. My last B12 injection was the first week of February, my surgery was on February 14th. 10 days post op I had my labs drawn and my blood serum B12 level was 1200. At 8 weeks post op my blood serum B12 levels were 1700. NO B12 INJECTIONS SINCE BEFORE SURGERY. also oral supplements. No b12 in my vitamins, Protein Bars or anything. This is baffling me. My providers (surgeon. PCP) don't seem to mind at all. I am needless to say very puzzled. I am still not doing injections (obviously) nor taking oral supplemental. I will have my levels retested again in a few weeks and see what it looks like. Anyone had this happen to them or even heard of such a bizarre thing? I know there are some medical folk on this board. Looking for similar stories and ideas.[/quote'] We have a major hormone shift after bypass so out stands to reason maybe you're levels for b12 are fluctuating? I'm that way with vit d. I didn't want to let mine drop so I, started vitamins before surgery and have been taking them since as our absorption had majorly changed. Why wait until it drops? Cecilia 201 Posted May 1, 2013 Week 3, day 1 of zombie 5K....now laying on my bed with ice on my shins. Ouch.....so, other zombie 5Kers, does your app ever go crazy timing you? I was doing 1 minute runs tonight and realized they were lasting FOREVER..... And during the runs the timer was not working right (if was spot on with the walking though). I've almost decided zombie 5K is out to get me! HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 220.2 I haven't had that problem... usually the woman's or trainer's voice tells me I'm almost there, then to stop and do the heel lifts, or whatever. That's odd...

gerrykayred 13 Posted May 1, 2013 That IS baffling! Besides being pleased' date=' did your doctor explain this to you?[/quote'] No one is explaining anything to me. All they say is don't worry about it. My concern is of I'm not able to absorb B12 well and I'm not taking supplements or injections, why are my levels increasing so abundantly? Rezwomen 2 Posted May 4, 2013 Had surgery 2/11/13 starting wt: 353 now 290 for the last 2 weeks!! Have not done any measurements since surgery. I had the biggest surprise today when I went shopping for a wedding dress and fit into a size 24!!! I have been overweight ALL my life. I haven't seen a size 24 in years. But I will admit I was scared to go and try on dresses for that moment of fear was there of the dreaded " we don't have your size".
