So I can't find the thread now but someone suggested trying pure Protein bars....yeah,not so much! Will try 1/2 next time (it was to replace the lunch I didn't have time to eat one day at work this week so I ate the whole thing!!!). I was dump-a-Licious!!!!!

If you want a bar that's high in protein, low in carbs, your best bet is an Atkins bar. As they are part of the low-carb movement, they will have no sugar (assuming that's what made you dump)

I was the pure Protein Bar person

Also Power Crunch bars also think thin bars have no sugar 20 grams protein. Did the pure protein bar make you sick? I can only eat half bar.

Grumble grumble grumble. Hate those darn things!!!!!!

So how did everybody do this Easter?

I made baskets for the kids and sampled one jelly bean... otherwise there was no desire nor temptation even though the office was full of treats!

I did have one jelly bean and one little chocolate egg and didn't feel the need to try anything else. That's a huge change for me. And frankly, the tiny little egg wasn't all that great.

I had a moment this morning....I always knew my tomach' date=' thighs, and noobs were screwed and destined to flap in the breeze. I thought my arms were gonna be okay. I was blow drying my hair with my skivvies on (bra and panties) and realized I actually have a bit of muscle in my upper arms!!! Then realized, oh shit, there's some major flapping going on underneath....craptastic!!! I'm going to be a freaking shar pei, fabulous.

Shar pei!! I love it! You gave me a smile this am.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
