"Stalls" why do people Freak out!

Recommended Posts

I am so dissapointed to read this thread. We are all supposed to be here to support each other and if someone chooses to weigh 5 times a day or not at all doesn't mean they " were not ready" for this. Noone is perfect and noone is a professional at this wls. Everyone handles things differently and struggles differently.......this is not how we should be supporting each other :-(

I agree. We need to remember where we came from. Take a step back and analyze your life up hntil the point of surgery and beyond. Again, REMEMBER where you came from...with this, you'll find empathy.

I find it fastinating that some have taken offense to this post. Usually when I see a topic I am not interested in being a part of, I dont read it or comment on it. I kniw the poster meant no judgement or harm. I understand and agree that it can get a bit much everyday seeing some post about a stall. They are upsetting , but a necessary part of the process. How we handle them is another issue. I cant come to your home or office and keep you from scarfing down brownies. We all make mistakes and sometimes stalls come from mistakes, sometimes not. The fact is, I cant help you through your stall. I have offered encouragement and advice to those in stalls, but really theres not much to say. We all know we have to scale back to basics or.just drive on and wait.it out.

I don't understand' date=' "this is Normal!!"[/quote']

I have read it all but i do understand i waited a few weeks before posting a post, the negative post about stalls, and it was bring me down also so don't feel bad, like you said it's not a magical surgery, some people will lose 25lbs only some will lose well over 100 lbs, but you are right, we will all go thro stalls, no need to fret about it im going on 3 weeks of my stall but no tears or tantrums here..

Exactly! We just have to wait it out even though it can be scary.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
