What are some signs and symptoms you look for to indicate you've had enough? I notice I'll do one big hiccup, and that's usually a signal for me lol. Any other odd signs?

I get that full feeling right above my ribs, and if I continue eating, my nose will start to run and I start producing more saliva. (Sorry, kinda gross). After pushing myself too far last week, I'm learning to listen to my body better.

I'm noticing it's very difficult in the beginning listening for those cues. Lol. I hear a lot of people say their nose starts to run...hmmm

I get a hiccup, too. My husband has picked up a lovely habit of yelling FULL when he hears it ;-)

Yes a hiccup and slight pressure under my ribs. Sometimes a tightness in my chest (or maybe that's from eating too fast :-(

My sign is a combo hiccup and burp. It's only started happening since I started on the soft foods and because I measure everything, O've only gotten there a few times. Most often I measure and stop when my 1 or 2 ounces (depends on the food consistency) is gone.

Lol my guy does that too when he hears my hicburp (it's a combo). At least they get it & know the meal for us is over. :)

I feel like I don't get many bites before I get the discomfort and burping sensation. Will I ever be able to bit into food and enjoy it like before. Or will this be forever. Having two bites, chewing 50x and then oh I'm full.

My tip of the day: stop at the hiccup/burp and just get away from the food. I made the mistake last night of eating just a bit more deli chicken and I was in so much pain that I started to cry and have a panic attack. I will never do that again. Head hunger can really cause pain if you let it take over!

I get pressure and feel like I'm going to have reflux. I always measure out my meal. Sometimes I will walk around for 10mins and the feeling will go away...or I walk to the bathroom....ick!!! I'm only 5weeks out, so still learning to be mindful of the chewing and tiny bites. I totally drank from a straw yesterday without even thinking!!! How does that happen??? Getting off subject here, but sometimes I feel so spacey! I think I need more protein!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
