My question was is it possible to get pregnant and get regular monthly periods ? Is it true that because of pcos and having gb you have high chances of multiples?

Having PCOS can increase your risk on having multiples, yes. You don't ovulate regularly and are more likely then someone without PCOS to release multiple eggs when you actually do ovulate....I've had multiple patients over the last 12 years who have lost 50+ pounds and suddenly become pregnant. Some thrilled because they wanted kids, some not so thrilled because they didn't....that said, I do know some people with PCOS that are not obese and are having fertility issues....I wish you the best!!!

The nurse at my surgeon's office got pregnant about 1 month post-op. she had previously been told she could never have children so she wasn't even thinking it was a possibility. She had a fairly rough pregnancy but the baby was very healthy and so is she. She ended up with a nutrition IV because she wasn't getting enough for the baby, but that was months 6-9. Anyway, the point of my post is that both you and baby should be fine. Just make sure that both your OBGYN and surgeon are aware of the situation and follow what they say.

Birth control never worked in the past even with a combination of hormone pills it would only come for a month then it would disappear so I hope this surgery will get rid of pcos , I have had spotting here and there for less then a day about 2 times after surgery 1-21-13 so I hope it works. Wish you the best

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
