nursie026 36 Posted February 10, 2013 Does anyone know the size of your pouch when you are three months postop? I had my surgery in November and I'm feeling so much more hungry lately. I am getting 60 to 80 g of Protein for the day but I'm still hungry? I'm worried it may be stretching or already has
LosingItForMe2011 320 Posted February 10, 2013 The swelling from the surgery goes down and the healing has started so you will feel like you can eat vs when it's all swollen you feel as if a mouthful is filling. Are you on solids yet? Are waiting 30 minutes after drinking before eating and waiting 30 minutes after eating before drinking so you don't wash the food out? My nutritionist said as far as solid Protein the most I will feel comfortable getting in is about 3 ounces.
nursie026 36 Posted February 10, 2013 I am on solids.. Have been for about 6 weeks..I only take in about 700 calories give of take. My meals daily are: 5 oz of Greek yogurt for Breakfast, 4 oz of cottage cheese for lunch and for dinner a Protein Shake or 4 oz of chicken... I do have a few cheese sticks during the day (60 calories).. Lately, I've been eating more cheese sticks and even had a fried chicken wing ( which made me so sick).. I even went as far as having a few chips yesterday. I don't know what my cravings are lately.. I haven't been waiting 30 min to drink.. How long will I have to do that? I thought that was just when I was on a soft diet. Maybe I will start doing that... Does it really work? But I still feel so hungry and I'm tempted to eat the "bad" things again! I don't want to go back to that way????.
Shrinking Don 365 Posted February 15, 2013 Yes it will work what happens if you don't wait 30 before and after it just pushes the food thru the pouch making you feel hungry which will lead to eating more it really is important and you should do that forever hope this helps
