clear liquid diet post op

Does anyone know why the post op diet is Clear Liquids for 7 days and not just liquids?

Mine was clear for 2 says then full liquids.< /p>

Mine is clear the first day post op then if no problems advances to full liquids either later tat day or the next morning, if all is well I go to soft foods after day 6....another one of those depends on the doc moments.

HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight 241.6

Mine is Clear Liquids first day post op and then pureed liquids for about a month after that, then advancing to soft food for another 2-3 months. Guess it depends on the doctors.
