Skim milk

Recommended Posts

I'm using this to help me reach my Protein goals. Is there Calcium in skim milk. Is too much skim milk bad?

Skim milk is great as long as you can tolerate it. It has the Protein and no fat. Not everyone can tolerate the lactose. I'm kinda lactose intolerant already and I'm preop so I'm expecting to not be able to drink milk at all. There's also almond milk and it's absolutely delicious in protein shakes!

I was surprised to learn that I could tolerate milk after surgery since I was lactose intolerant prior to the surgery. My nutritionist said it can work either way. Hopefully you become tolerant.

Ooh I hope so!

Almond milk by silk is soooo good, and I love skim usually only. At least I know I can do almond milk even if I become intolerant of milk.....

I was having problems with skim but then looked at the label and realized how much sugar is in skim milk. No wonder I kept feeling sick after drinking a Protein Shake. I switched to light soy milk. This does not apply to everyone just me because of how I handle sugar.

The sugar in milk is not like regular sugar. That is actually what the lactose is, milk sugar. If you are having problems with skim milk I would be very careful about any dairy product. You may be lactose intolerant.
