hockeymumzie 181 Posted February 7, 2013 I'm just starting my journey, called my insurance and they could not find that i needed to have a six month supervised diet. But with anthem you never know what they will pull out of their pocket. If just saying if i get approved by the end if march do i go with it and do it then, because we are going to Mexico June 11 and don't know if i should attempt to travel like that so soon. Or would you wait until you get back to have the life changing procedure? Jessie
pookybear 284 Posted February 7, 2013 If you're having surgery in March you should be fine to travel in June. Just make sure you go prepared with whatever types of foods you'll need at that stage, and bring bottled water! Don't necessarily trust what they tell you over the phone, get the policy in writing. You can get it online or you should be able to find it in your handbook if you have one.

My ins co said they DO NOT require the six months but they DO go by the state of Maryland ( where I live) medical ins guidelines. Well Marylands guidelines were 6 months or 2 sets of three months within the last two years. Be careful of that.

litlsisred 20 Posted February 9, 2013 also about travel... it all depends on your doc. I had surgery on nov 27th and the doc cleared me to travel from FL to VA in mid December.
