jerz 251 Posted February 10, 2013 Mine was removed the day after surgery. I kinda wish it was in for longer because yesterday I pulled a hanging piece of scab off my incisions site and a bunch of Fluid poured out!! For about 10 mins a brownish liquid came out then it got more red and bloody! I applied pressure and it stopped. Now I'm worried I have fluid still inside of me :-(
missybrown44 8 Posted February 10, 2013 How much Fluid came out? A thimbull (spelling), or like a teaspoon? Where on your body was the scab? Did the fluid smell? Do u have a fever? P.S. I'm a nurse lol

missybrown44 8 Posted February 11, 2013 Drainage green or weird brown with an oder or a incision that's opened needs to be called to the doctors office.

I'm a nurse lol[/quote'] I can't really say. I soaked about 5 paper towels. About 1/8c it was gushing out for the 1st 10 minutes or so. It was no smell. The scab was where my stitches have healed. No fever. There are painful lumps on each side and under the stitches. When I went to the er on Tuesday the doc said it was Water on the left side and scar tissue everywhere else. But I think I have fluid still in me.
danny7995 48 Posted February 20, 2013 My surgeon did not use drain tubes. So not not all patients have them.

Debbiebydesign 93 Posted February 20, 2013 Im so scared about the catheter My first experience with a Cath was my c section. They put it in while I was awake and the nurse was a catheter ninjas...I felt nothing. It was nice not having to get up to go. With my Rny, they did it when I was knocked out. It wasn't painful, but it was annoying. I felt the urge the whole time, and I got the stupid thing caught in the hospital chair. I'm convinced it was not draining properly. Once it was out, it felt so much better. The nurse took it out and told me I had 6 hours to void. I got up and voided some immediately. The catheter was a minor annoyance. SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted February 23, 2013 I couldn't figure out what was up!!!! Every time I peed I had this sharp burning pain through my crotch...I was baffled. As soon as that stupid drain was pulled pain was instantly gone! It was just rubbing on stuff. Make sure you take a dose of pain meds an hour or so before they pull that east out though!!!!
