I am with you!!! Anyone who says this is the easy way out I would like to smack!!! You still have to fight food cravings and follow a healthy diet. Not to include exercise.

I'm just hoping this gets better cos ive been second guessing my choice. Also hasnt helped that people around me are constantly saying 'well u lost 25 by yourself, just keep going!' Nope, doesn't work like that. I just want this part to be over :(

It will be. Hang In there. The first few weeks are rough and then it starts to get easier. We will always struggle but it really does help. Good luck to you. Feel free to vent here to us. We understand and maybe able to help you. :-)

What you are feeling is all NORMAL. We have all been there. As far as the wanting foods just give it time and you can eat them. Do not eat them early, it will taste great going down, but coming back up is a different story. You are experiencing head hunger and it is the demon you have to fight. It will get better as the months roll by, but it is hard at first. As for Water intake I was like you pre op, but rest assured that this too shall pass. Just give things time and hang in there.

What people do not understand is that a person who does not get the surgery can not stick to a liquid sf diet forever. They still have a big stomach with big cravings and your body will force you to eat, then it will store that food. Tjis is why we were powerless to.do this on our own. Other people with opinions suck. Just sayin

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
