brandnewme 20 Posted February 6, 2013 Hello, everything gone really quickly for me based in the UK - having my operation in London but now live in the Midlands. Saw my doctor early December of last year and he referred me to the Hospital. My appointment came through for New Years Eve, had a follow up appointment Jan 17th where I was given my operation date of Feb 8th. I know so many people have to wait so long before the op my health authority now are convinced with the benefits - fingers crossed I will be off all my meds in due course. Pre-op diet was low carb, no shakes. I can't wait for the "brandnewme". Will update when I can....... Take care all....

brandnewme 20 Posted February 11, 2013 I feel great thanks. Out of hospital Sunday so just resting up. Will visit my Doctor this morning to have my blood pressure checked as was quite low in hospital so may need meds adjusted. Wonderjng what people are having post op? I was on coffee and Soup last couple oc days but switching up to Protein Shakes to ensure my 60g of Protein a day.
brandnewme 20 Posted February 12, 2013 Is/has anyone having/had problems with getting their Protein in on the first stage of having a bypass? My stomach really hurts if I have too much milk or Protein Shakes. Will try and contact my NUT to see if she can give other ideas, as there are no alternatives on the sheet I was given. SoccerMomma73 1,867 Posted February 12, 2013 I've been told to focus on liquids and not sweat the Protein the first few weeks. HW 312, pre-op (lap-band) 294, pre-op (RNY) 255, surgery date 2/11/13, goal weight 154, current weight

brandnewme 20 Posted February 13, 2013 Thanks for all your great repies..... I've always had a problem with milk in quantites other than in coffee. Things like Slim Fast, Cambridge Diet, Lighter Life etc etc have always given me an upset stomach. At the moment I've tried to have milk and extra Protein with fruit and put in a blender and it does seem to be going well so far, fingers crossed. I have to ask though has anyone else notice your breath smells? I tried to brush my tounge but keep gagging and feeling sick, use listerine but it only halts it for a short time. Have been advised not to use gum - any ideas anyone?
