Amanda R 56 Posted February 1, 2013 How soon after surgery did you start working out like that-I'm preop and struggle doing 10 mins of low impact aerobics lol.
perezhe1 8 Posted February 1, 2013 6 weeks after surgery i started the gym but just the elliptical. But i would go everyday even if it was just 20-30 mins .. Little by little i went progressing ..... Make it a point to be a little active little by little ..it will get easier..... Its all a mind thing after. Before the sugery i couldnt do much myself.... Going up one flight of stairs would kill me. I also had bac k problems . but after the sugery i promised myself i would go.... I did not want to rely on the surgery. 1 Amanda R reacted to this
perezhe1 8 Posted February 1, 2013 When is your surgery?
Amanda R 56 Posted February 1, 2013 It won't be till July at the earliest. I have to complete a 6 month diet thing first-yack. I've just started doing the aerobic thing every other day. I would love to go outside and walk but it is like 17 degrees here with a wind chill of 8. Do you have any kids? I have a clingy 10 month old, so he makes it pretty hard to get a chance to get anything in-I usually wait for him to go to bed. I am hoping by the time after surgery and he will be almost a 1 year and a half, it won't be as bad.
Amanda R 56 Posted February 1, 2013 Since you workout alot, did you have alot of issues with loose skin? It is something I keep thinking about lol-I so don't want to have to wear a bunch of girdles.

perezhe1 8 Posted February 1, 2013 Thank you ! Thank you! I started at 265lbs. 34 yrs old. I still have a lot of fat around my thighs. That will be hard to completely tone....but i have hard too many surgeries already so i will work hard to avoid the skin removal surgery if possible.
perezhe1 8 Posted February 1, 2013 Amanda...good luck on your surgery.... It is worth the wait. I have 5 year old and a 17 year old (step) ....a very supportive husband...and i am blessed to bave gym at my work....it was always there lol but after the sugery i had he energy because i started sleeping better and my back issues went away.... I live in Canada so the cold temps right now dont help ...... Try to fit in activities.... When you can. It will get easier.
