Expat 27 Posted February 2, 2013 I had surgery on a monday morning at 8am and went home tuesday at 1pm. I would have left in the morning if the had taken the Fluid iv out. No complications.
WheatThin 24 Posted February 2, 2013 I had my surgery on January 29 at 7:30am and was home by 4:00pm on the 30th. Thankfully, I had no complications and everything went very smoothly. As someone said before though, it greatly depends on your surgeon and each person's individual situation. I live about 55 miles from my surgeon, so I was right at the cut off distance of being allowed to go home the next day. If you don't feel comfortable going home after one day then I suggest asking for another night if possible.
sleevemeup 41 Posted February 2, 2013 Was basically kicked out 30 hours later after having open surgery. Seriously? I want to leave early, but that doesn't seem right. My doctor said I could go as long as my heart rate stayed normal and they knew I was peeing and uncomfortable (not in extreme pain), I could go.
jerz 251 Posted February 3, 2013 Yeah I had a horrible experience. Surgery was changed from laparoscopic to open surgery without my consent or knowledge (surgeon didn't even tell me after he visited me) I found out from a nurse that removed my drain. I was discharged 30 hrs after surgery in horrible pain after begging to stay :-(

jerz 251 Posted February 4, 2013 I'm better now. I'm still pissed about everything that happened to me and will be demanding answers when I see the surgeon. My incision hurts (it's a long cut from my breastbone almost to my belly button) and I still need help getting out of bed. I can walk fine and have been walking my dog. But on the plus side is that I'm 16 pounds lighter since 1/
bolivister 5 Posted February 4, 2013 I just had mine on Thursday morning and was out Saturday morning. Two nights I think minimum but don't push it if you need to stay longer. 1 Vicki Loichinger reacted to this
