taraster25 12 Posted January 30, 2013 So when I met with my surgeon she said she wanted me to lose 20-30lbs. I am having a really hard time doing this. I don't understand why they expect me to lose weight like it's no big deal. Anyway, I have been trying and failing since she told me to lose weight on Dec. 9th. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for me to lose some of this weight?
iverina 33 Posted January 30, 2013 Hi. I read you're new read thread and I'm in the same boat. They want us to lose it so they can have more room to work inside, it also helps shrink the liver, which they need to pull back to get to our stomachs. I have stated working out twice a week and I'm eating a high Protein diet with no sodas or anything else to drink but Water. I'm feeling better. Its only been two weeks though. Good luck. Letme know we can support each other
taraster25 12 Posted January 30, 2013 Thanks, I know that they want me to lose weight to have easier access to my stomach. It was explained at my seminar. My friend, who went to the same center, said they told her to lose weight too. She said she lost the majority of the weight during the 2 week liquid diet prior to surgery. I'm just afraid that I won't get a surgery date if I don't lose enough weight. I have been going to the gym more often and cut back on fast food and cut out sodas. I think I will try a high Protein diet too. Thanks for the advise!
sleevemeup 41 Posted January 31, 2013 I'm starting my pre-op tomorrow. Mostly liquid with a high Protein snack and small high protein meal. I can still drink coffee ( I only drink it in the morning), and tons of Water. Good Luck! When is your surgery?
