Magic Mountain verses self control and preopp diet

Recommended Posts

I win.....with lots of prayer! Went to Magic Mountain today to Celebrate my daughter's 11th birthday which is on Feb 11th lol.....but since my surgery is on the 6th....I didn't want o ruin it for her.....anyhow, it was so hard to be there and be on my shakes....I had to get premixed ones to take with me (disgusting) but with God's help I was even able to walk most of the day. We can do this you guys.....it feels good to say..." I am choosing not to eat that because my surgery is important to me, my health is important to me, I have started a new life and it is my choice to not overeat.". I am paying for all the walking now.....but I am so thankful God gave me the strength to resist temptation and to be able to walk. All my disabilities keep me so tired and in pain.....but today was wonderful....we can all do this. I can't wait till Feb 6th....today showed me that I really am ready for this.

Yes I know all about disability and pain. So glad you are motivated and not just sitting at home waiting to be thin to enjoy things like that with your daughter. I have missed out on too many things like that.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
