Thank you MalyssaSue! I guess what really did it for me is that I stuffed/inhaled TWO of them in like less than 1min and standing up ... I felt disgusted with myself afterwards like I had just done something so shameful!!! But you are right' date=' we are all going to make mistakes! Having surgery doesn't mean we flipped a switch to being perfect!! It's a daily commitment! :)[/quote']

Just so you know I had a mini cupcake and a small piece of pizza last night and a chicken wing. It was our monthly girls night and I wanted to join in. So today I will just work out extra at the gym. It happens.

A friend who's daughter had surgery- and went way below her goal weight- said she use to eat what every she wanted, chew chew chew, and spit it into a brown paper bag just so she could have the taste. Maybe try that? I'm only a month out, starting regular foods, but I don't miss "normal" foods yet. In fact someone posted a pic on fb of chicken and potatoes covered in gravy and an entire half plate of Mac and cheese and all I could think was "gross." In my old life id have eaten it all lol I had my first pizza yesterday- topping only and was totally satisfied- and full lol from 1 slice. When you want that taste, don't deprive- just chew and spit ;)

Also, if you live in Texas, HEB has these crackers called pita poppers. So good! Super thin and good nut value too. Like 30 for 100 calories and a gram or two of sugar, plus a few grams of Protein. I had about 6 with hummus for my first "normal" food. Yummm!!

I'm also going to whole foods in Houston today to look for dry roasted edamame and other good Snacks. Raquel- are you busy?? You should join me!!

Ahhh I wish I had read this before!! I would of loved to go!! Today I had three nachos and felt fine.... I'm just going to take it day by day and if it gets really bad then I'll try the chew and spot method although I may not want to spit lol ;) I just keep telling myself that I didn't do all this for nothing and that it'll happen I just gotta wait it out-- as for food, if I'm not around it I won't crave it right? But it seems that it's EVERYWHERE I go!!

Raquel I feel the exact same way & I am only a week and a half post op. :( It is very hard emotionally! The first week every time I saw food I wanted to cry...it's really pretty sick! I knew I loved food but never knew I was so emotionally attached. My husband has been wonderful though. He has been doing the grocery shopping and making the family meals so that I don't have to. Also, I went back to work this weekend which really helped me keep my mind off it. I find if I'm busy doing something I like I could care less about food.

Thank you SO much for your post!!! I feel a little less crazy now. Lol :)

Just reading this tread has been helpful to me! I won't lie and say I don't really miss food, but I'm gonna keep trying cause this is what I signed up for. And I chew food and spit it out too! It helps but also makes me feel like some sort of freak. But whatever works!

Having a family, husband and friends to support you makes all the difference in the world!! I notice my co-workers changing their eating habits too, no more sugary donuts and mid-day frap runs instead they try to make healthier choices which in return helps me!! It's a daily struggle, like most I didn't actually think I was addicted to food but, I am and I have to take it day by day.... I refuse to allow myself to fail at this! This tool is wanted by mannnnny and I'm blessed with it so I'm going to make the best of it! Good luck to u & keep us posted!!!

Omgosh girl.. I know what you mean.. I had my surgery Dec 5,2012 .. I stalled for 4 weeks!! So at that point i said the heck with it and started eating pizza, hamburgers ect..whatever i could fit in because I felt like the surgery failed me... I thought i should be losing weight no matter what.. Wrong! This is so life changing wether we want it or not... So I started really praying needing strength.. Then i came across this app called my fitness pal. Whoooo after 2 days of using it I was/am back on the road of losing weight. It keeps us accountable of what we put in our mouth.. It really helped me.. Maybe it will help u you too!

Omg Tori, I too felt like a failure too, I went back yesterday and realized from my weight chart in my phone, that I had not lost anything for almost 4 wks. Last week I finally last 3 more pounds, but it was after I just stopped weighing myself for a weeks cause I had gotten so discouraged. I'm now back in the bandwagon and those 3 pounds gave me so much confidence along with this forum. Hang in there girlie and glad to hear you found something to help you.

SD: 10/10/12, Converted from Lapband to RNY, HW (before band) 263, HW (RNY) 230, Preop 219, after surgery 223, CURRENT... 187 YEAH!!!!

The emotional is much worse I think. I am upset that I am not losing as much as other people. I swore I wouldn't compare' date=' but I am doing just that. I am not getting my Protein in or enough I should say. I know that is the problem. Are you guys getting in all yours?[/quote']

I feel the same way. I have gotten to the point where i didnt count the protien intake also its gets so discouraging. Today I wake and said to myself that i have to take back control, i didnt pay nor bare the pain to give up. So Im starting fresh, and being thankful for how far I have gotten in the whole 11 months 125 pds down, 60 more to go!!!

What's your name on my fitness pal? Look

Me up, raquelrdgz!! I love it and find myself using it when I go out so I know exactly what I'm eating , it's hard with home cooked meals but I don't cook much:)

I started training with my trainer and I'm determine to make a change!! There isn't any way I can just give up, gone through so much to get where I'm at and my body can't decide it just wants to stay "plump"

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
