Amelia40 0 Posted February 10, 2007 I had my surgery 1/31 and had excessive burping for mor than a week. I called my dr 8 days out and he said that this is normal. It is the gas that they put in during surgery. Today is the first time that the burping is better. I still burp but not after every think I drink or every move I make. So it will get better hang in there. He also told me there is nothing to take for it. I tried gas-x as several had recommended however for me this did not work. Good Luck Amelia
juliegeraci 7 Posted February 10, 2007 Burping is normal. Its your body telling you that you are full now. Its one of the signs. Good luck.

sherilynn 1 Posted February 11, 2007 If that's my body's way of saying I'm full...then I'm full ALL of the time!
christy 0 Posted February 11, 2007 I burped up gas just the day of and day after surgery, man did it taste NASTY. It's totally normal, though!
EliyshevaLovesYahweh 6 Posted March 3, 2011 I was banded on 1/31 and ever since I have been burping more than the usual for me. Several weeks ago, I called the nurse about this and she said it was normal. I guess it is one of the lapband side affects.
54Shirley 105 Posted March 4, 2011 I still burp 5 yrs. later... You have new plumbing, and if you get a loud burp from the stomach up, it means your passage is clear. That's a very good thing. So your not alone.
