i don't know why he wants you to have 6 a day....so it is hard to say. mine has me on 2 a day with at least 30 g of Protein in each and a lean meat and veg for dinner. but i would say to follow his instructions. when i make my family meals i just prepare theirs first and then make my shake and eat with them. for dinner i usually only have part of what I make or something entirely different depending on what i make them. the key is meal planning. plan your time and meals so that you can eat with your family and not feel left out, and so they can enjoy your company....its to easy to hide in the bedroom when I cook them something I cannot have, but i figure i better get used to it. i hope you find a way to manage it all. i know it is hard to be a stay-at-home-mom...I am one too, and having to prepare 9 different meals is no fun.my surgery is feb 6th BTY

I am a single Mom and here's what I did. I counted up how many meals I needed for my girls and pre-made them. It shortened the time I spent cooking in the kitchen when I started the shakes. I got little snack packs, filled them up and made one cabinet just for those 2 weeks. My girls thought it was great that they got to pick their Snacks. My freezer was full of easy re-heat meals. I also asked my Mom to take my girls out for pizza half way through. Its my trigger food so it was really nice of her to take my girls for me so they didn't miss out. But ya, I pre-made everything. Good luck and I know you can do it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
