pookybear 284 Posted January 22, 2013 What should I pack/not pack for the hospital? Also, what should I have on hand when I get home? I know all the Vitamins. Water isn't a problem as I work for a water company lol. I also know about the papaya enzyme. What's recommended for the acid reflux? And is there anything else I may want to have on hand? ready2smile 138 Posted January 22, 2013 pack light, you'll sleep most of the time-the rest you'll be walking or won't really care. i took the following: chapstick (a MUST) brush, hair tie cell phone, charger, head phones eye mask and ear plugs (for peace and quite in the day time) chonies, socks, robe and slippers magazine i knew the hospital would have the following for me to use: a gown toothbrush and toothpaste soap, lotion, washcloth extra pillows and blankets i wore comfy loose clothes in, same clothes out (with clean chonies) :] walk as much as possible, use your chapstick, and keep your mouth wet. at home-always have Water nearby, Protein drinks at the ready, and plenty of options for liquids/clears such as sf Jello, pudding, popsicles and broth. i used my recliner a lot because it was easier than the bed. kisersassy 369 Posted January 23, 2013 Clear liquids are beef or chicken or vegetable broth. Decaf tea or coffee black or with splenda. Water and you can add SF koolaide or crystal light etc. And SF Jello. But usually you get released on full liquids which includes yogurt, strained creamed Soups, Protein Shakes, milk, SF pudding and I am sure others will add to this list 2 Marisela and Kathy Pitcher reacted to this

pookybear 284 Posted January 31, 2013 RNY eliminates acid reflux completely Really? They told me I should take Prilosec or something similar. I just assumed it was for acid reflux. Why do they tell you to take it then?
