Thanks I will.

FF retried Beans were on my liquids list I could start the week after surgery....I thinned them a bit with chicken stock while I was on liquids but once I went to mushies I started going thicker with them. I now eat them at the consistency they come out of the can at with no problems... (Other than gas! Yay beans!!!) I can only do an ounce at a time so maybe that's a difference but like I said, it's one of the first foods my nutritionist approves post-op! Good luck!!!

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what to have for dinner these days. chicken used to sit very well, but not any more and even if its very moist or in something liquidy like Soup. Matter of fact, no meat is settling well in my tummy. Feels soo heavy and sharp. Was previously able to eat salmon, not anymore, now I think shrimp is it. :(

We all need someone to say why are you eating that. It took me an hour and 1/2 to eat it. I most likely won't again. It was a head hunger and I know it. A relapse in judgement to see if I could. And yep it didn't sit very well with me. It's kinda like when folks eat the FF refried Beans or Alfredo noodles or mash potatoes. Really they shouldn't be' date=' but some how they make it sound like its good for you. And it's not. I do make minor slips and it's over. It's like buying a pint of chocolate ice cream. Before surgery I could eat that whole pint in 30 mins. Now I can't tolerate 4 teaspoons of it. And it does not set well in my stomach. So I will not eat it anymore. I can't eat yogurt either not any kind of it. Texture is a big thing to me now. So no I don't mine if you ask what was I thinking because I asked myself that same question[/quote']

This may help I hope. My nut told me to take 1/2 hour to eat - no more & no less. Maybe this is something you could adopt & prevent that bad full tummy feeling? Also, I read on Hungry Girl about adding a tiny amount of low fat graham cracker crumbled into key lime yogurt so it will have some crunch like a pie. Just tried it with vanilla (1/4 of a "sheet") & it did help with texture. Maybe also try mixing it with fruit or something else to help with texture or are you just done, done, done with Yogurt? I got that way about cottage cheese which I used to love so I get it if that's the case.

I used to like yogurt but they dont have the 99% fat free anymore they have light or original. I tried different brands and just cant stand it. I try not to Eat much fruit because of no real nutrition value to it and to high in carbs. I may not do some things well but i do try to stay in the boundaries of the limits that are set for us. I do push it a bit but then i know after the pain not ever again

I have run across some very high Protein low sugar yogurt. It called SIGGI'S. I found it at Wegmans. It Icelandic style yogurt and it is pricey but it has 14 grms protein and only 9 sugar. Very thick and creamy 8 flavors.

I tried Hungry Girl's version of chicken Cordon Bleu. OMG it was so good. Just 3 ingredients - chicken breast, ham & a wedge of laughing cow. Couldn't finish it but it was delicious.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
