Ok honesty time so don't hate on me. If and when I crave sweets like cake or ice cream or candy since these were foods I loved. My taste for them are no longer good. Which I am glad. My pouch lets me know oh hell no we don't want that. Yes I do try but regret and dump it. And then move on not to go there again. I hardly eat potatoes or French fries or any Pasta. I will have whole wheat spaghetti but since the 1st of January only twice. I eat veggies love salads and meat and chicken. Fish and shrimp not so much. Where I live you can't get fresh so most is processed.

Tonight I had another bowl of my veggie beef Soup, but also attempted 1/2 of a red velvet cupcake which was so nasty. Not doing to well. Waiting for the sin to pass or I dump.

No hating from me! ;) I have been so close to trying things I shouldnt, but I'm such a chicken to dump. Took me long enough to actually throw up, cuz I was so afraid. I also haven't tried salads. Gonna wait a little bit for that too.

Surgery date 4/22

Feel better! Honestly, I think it is natural to want something from time to time we are human. Keep it in perspective and don't beat yourself up. How were you able to eat 1/2 cupcake tho I thought after surgery "bready" stuff wouldnt go down. I have a band now and can't remember the last time Ive had anything like that because it gets stuck. That doesn't happen with rny?

The fact that you ate your Protein first is a positive thing so remember that part. Feel better!

No hater here! At least your honest about it because I'm sure there are some closet eaters who wouldn't be honest at all.

I'm the odd ball out of the bunch and my pouch loves everything.

Me too, very few issues unless its super sweet or super greasy. meat, chicken, raw fruits and veggies, breads.... None of it bothers me (naturally I can only eat small amounts....)

HW 312, pre-op (RNY) 255, current weight 213.2

Seriously. She was on the toilet for 22 hours...extreme dumping.. I think the sauce probably had added sugar too. The funny thing is that she can drink juice to no ill effect... I guess everyone dumps differently.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
